Location

The café is open to the public and is based in Churchman House which is at 71 Bethel Street in Norwich. This is next to the junction with St Giles, Upper St Giles and Cleveland Road a short distance from the roundabout at the top of Grapes Hill.

Our food

We serve our delicious homemade food. This includes:

• Toasted ciabattas

• Jacket potatoes

• Hot street food specials like Three Bean Chilli, Mushroom Stroganoff

• Breakfast rolls

• A selection of homemade cakes

• Homemade sausage rolls

• Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cold drinks

We have vegan and vegetarian choices across our range of food. Our staff will be able to advise you about other dietary needs.

Café facilities

• Free wifi is available.

• In summer we have outside tables at the rear of the building. There is seating in the garden area too.

• Payment is contactless only, no cash.

• Baby changing facilities.

• Kids corner with some books and toys

Accessibility

There is level access via the rear of the building. From Bethel St head towards Chapelfield roundabout. Turn down the narrow access road on the left next to the Norfolk Family History Society. At the gate there is an intercom for you to speak to reception and ask for the gate to be opened then head to the café. There is an accessible toilet.

Parking

• There is no parking onsite for cafe customers.

• The nearest car parks are St Giles and The Forum plus some street parking with parking meter payment.

Why is it called REST cafe?

REST cafe's name comes from the REST services provided in the same building and is an acronym for Recover, Eat, Support, Talk.

REST is a partnership project led by Norfolk and Waveney MIND bringing together mental health support, local services and a place where everyone can feel welcome. It provides a safe, welcoming, non-clinical space in which people experiencing mental distress or crisis can receive the support and information they need.
